Abbett Elementary: Adopt-A-Class

We are grateful for our ongoing partnership with Abbett Elementary School and have a unique opportunity to stay engaged with them throughout the school year by adopting each of their classrooms. This is a great opportunity for you, your family, or your small group to connect with the students, teachers, and families at Abbett!

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO ADOPT-A-CLASS?
• Year-long → Pray for the faculty and students.
• Year-long → Provide birthday cards for staff and students.
• October → Participate in the candy drive by purchasing candy and helping us pass it out too!
• November → Provide each student with a hat and gloves and a fun activity to promote thankfulness.
• December → Participate in the Abbett Holiday Drive by purchasing a blanket for a student (1 total).
• February → Provide your teacher with supplies to throw a Valentine’s party for the whole class.
• May → Provide an “End of Year” summer bag for your students (limit $5 per student). Ideas include socks, toothbrushes, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, bouncy balls, stickers, coloring books, sunglasses, etc.

Zimbabwe Trip

September 12-21

Pine Hills Church is partnered with the Africa Church Planting Initiative through the FEC and has 5 church plants in Zimbabwe. This trip is designed to visit those church plants, encourage the pastors affiliated with these plants, and assist in constructing a structure for one of the churches to meet. This is an intermediate level trip which means it is physically and spiritually more demanding than an average trip. The minimum age requirement for this trip is 18 years old.

Prepare to encounter a hunger for the gospel that will ignite and energize your faith. On this trip, you will experience a new sense of urgency in your pursuit of expanding God’s Kingdom as you partner with the rapidly growing Church in Africa. You can expect to be welcomed with joy and singing as you serve and worship with the vibrant local Christian community in Mutare, Zimbabwe.

India Trip

October 3-12

Pine Hills Church is partnered with a church-planting church in Kolkata, India. This trip is designed to partner with this church and do ministry in the community. This is an advanced level trip which means it is physically and spiritually more demanding than an average trip. The minimum age requirement for this trip is 18 years old.

Get ready to deepen your faith in a complex cultural context as you travel to the bustling capital of India’s West Bengal state. Expect to be challenged and inspired by testimonies of spiritual and relational opposition from local pastors and missionaries as you serve and meet tangible needs in communities full of rich history and religious diversity.
