Freedom is the birthright of every follower of Jesus Christ
Too many followers of Jesus are forgiven but not yet free. Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31b-32). We want to help you know the truth and live the truth so that you can experience the freedom that Jesus purchased for and promises to you.
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36)
What is Freedom?
Freedom is living and experiencing the abundant life that Jesus came to give us (John 10:10). It begins by believing in Jesus and receiving His free gift of salvation (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 1:13-14). We are then adopted into God’s family as sons and daughters, which is our primary identity, and we are sealed with the Holy Spirit, who lives within us (Romans 8:15-17; Ephesians 1:4-5; 13-14). Jesus came to give us freedom from our sins, our bondage, our blindness, and our oppression (Luke 4:18-19), and the Holy Spirit leads us into more and more freedom as we surrender to Him and allow Him to make us more like Jesus. Freedom is a journey, and freedom is the birthright of every follower of Christ!
Who needs Freedom?
Everyone needs freedom, including followers of Jesus! While our salvation and the forgiveness of our sins, provided by the finished work of Jesus, is the most important part of our freedom, many followers of Jesus continue to feel stuck in sin, destructive habits, shame, guilt, and emotional wounds. Christians not only experience turmoil and discouragement, but they also experience the lies and accusations from the enemy, who only wants to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Jesus came to give us freedom in every area of our lives so that we don’t have to remain stuck anymore.
