Nonprofit Guide

- The Rescue Mission: Provides shelter, food, and mentorship.
Mission Statement – The Rescue Mission exists to provide, through the power of Jesus Christ, a home for the homeless, food for the hungry, and hope for their future. - Vincent Village: Focuses on transitional housing and case management for families experiencing homelessness.
Mission Statement – We provide homeless families a long-term continuum of care, training, and resources with empathy, dignity, and accountability. - Just Neighbors Interfaith Homeless Network: Partners with local congregations to provide shelter and transitional support for homeless families.
Mission Statement – Just Neighbors’ mission is to serve homeless families by uniting religious congregations, community volunteers and local agencies in a cooperative effort to provide shelter, meals, and compassionate, comprehensive professional support. - Habitat for Humanity of Greater Fort Wayne: Builds homes to provide affordable housing.

Mission Statement – To provide single women experiencing homelessness with a safe, stable, and welcoming environment, offering immediate safety (“a place to go”) and a foundation for long-term transformation and personal growth (“a place to grow”).
Food banks, clothing assistance, transportation, emergency support
- Community Harvest Food Bank: The largest food bank in Northeast Indiana.
Mission Statement – Community Harvest Food Bank’s mission is to alleviate hunger through the full use of donated food and other resources, while also increasing public awareness and involvement in hunger solutions. - Wellspring Interfaith Social Services: provides free social, physical, and educational support to the community, including a food bank, clothing bank, and youth programs.
Mission Statement – People of faith serving the social, physical, and educational needs of the community in Allen County. - The Franciscan Center: a monthly food pantry, a “Medicine Cabinet” for hygiene products, and a “Sack Lunch” program

Mission Statement – To enhance the health and quality of life for the homebound community through the delivery of nutritional, medically tailored meals and the vital social visits of dedicated volunteer drivers.
Counseling, addiction recovery, behavioral health, crisis support
- YWCA Northeast Indiana: Offers dedicated residential and transitional addiction recovery programs specifically for women. Their services include chemical dependency education, counseling, and specialized therapies.
- The Bowen Center: At Bowen Health we provide high-quality healthcare for the whole person, mind and body, in northeast and north central Indiana. We aim to be your healthcare home by offering judgement-free, patient-centered care. Services include wellness exams, sports physicals, sick visits, mental and emotional health care, dentistry, addiction recovery, life skills coaching and more.
- Parkview Behavioral Health Institute: Park Center provides inpatient and outpatient services to Fort Wayne and surrounding communities. Offering crisis services, a 24-hour HelpLine, SOS Mobile Intervention Team, addiction treatment, inpatient care and other community and family support programs, PBHI delivers high-quality care by experienced professionals.
- Celebrate Recovery: Celebrate Recovery (CR) exists to help people find freedom and healing from their hurts, hang-ups and habits through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Erin’s House: Erin’s House works with families to prevent the impact of unprocessed grief. Research has identified a link between experiencing an unresolved death during childhood with poor school performance, alcohol and drug abuse, depression, anxiety, and an increased risk for suicide. On-site and in conjunction with schools and community organizations, Erin’s House provides a safe environment for those who are grieving to learn and develop coping skills as they build hope for their future. All of our services are provided to families at no cost.

Mission Statement – to honor and obey God by providing hope and healing to children and families, who may then bless others by supporting residential, educational, foster care, adoption, and other innovative family programs. - The Cooper House: Their primary goal is to support the reunification of foster children with their birth parents, keeping children safe and helping families thrive together.

Developmental disabilities, adaptive recreation, independent living, accessibility support
- Turnstone: A variety of programs and services that include therapeutic intervention, early education, case management, adult day services, health and wellness programming, sports and recreation opportunities for children and adults with disabilities.

Mission Statement – Motivated by the love of Christ, A Hope Center heals hearts and saves lives by providing free pregnancy services, resources, and education to nurture sexual, emotional, and spiritual health.
Refugee resettlement, immigrant services, language support, multicultural organizations
- Catholic Charities Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend: Catholic Charities agencies provide care to our sisters and brothers, who often come to us in their time of greatest need. Our ministry to vulnerable people on the move is a cornerstone of our Catholic identity.
- International House: International House is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian organization committed to sharing the love and light of Jesus Christ with refugees and other Internationals living in the Fort Wayne area.
- Amani Family Services: a private nonprofit organization serving more than 2,000 families and individuals annually from around the world who have made Allen County their home. Amani is the only local organization entirely devoted to promoting the well-being of non-English speaking families through community-based counseling and casework, with the purpose of facilitating the healing of immigrants and refugees who have experienced maltreatment and violence and preventing incidents of family violence.
Literacy, tutoring, job readiness, workforce training, financial coaching
- The Literacy Alliance: Focuses on adult basic education. They offer free programs for high school equivalency (HSE/GED) preparation, English language learning, and basic literacy. They also provide Project Aim for corporate and workforce skills training.

Their specialized “Focus Forward” program supports young adults with HSE diplomas, career readiness, and workforce training. They also provide one-on-one Financial Foundations coaching and the JAG youth employment program.

They provide specialized tutoring for youth in grades 3-12, career planning, and community workforce connections designed to help residents secure sustainable employment.

At the heart of our mission is the commitment to empowering African Americans and others to thrive in their communities. - Lutheran Social Services of Indiana (LSSI): Integrates financial literacy education and coaching into their family support programs. They also offer LSSI Works, a community-based workforce development initiative that trains and preps individuals for long-term employment.
